the only time I experience it is on my phone (android)

My suggestion to the new owners of this board: People who aren't willing to become premium members should continue to have free access and respond to any and all posts. However, they should be limited to the amount of threads they can initiate - maybe 2 or 3 per month?
are you pissed you bought a premium membership and are trying to justify it to yourself and others or something? I would bet IB offered chris and debler enough money that even if all of the highest contributing members had premium memberships, they still would have sold. I payed for a premium membership for most of my years here. I stopped for some of the same reasons as johnny. Even if we had had hundreds more premium members, we would still be getting more adds because of the corporation who bought this site and no longer gives a **** about its members. In the past, I was supporting chris and debler for the awesome work they did. Why would I want to support a company who is doing the opposite of that? You think if we send them enough money theyll cut back on the ads? Ya right... Thats where they make all their money anyway. Your 10 lousy bucks a year is just a drop in the enormous bucket.

And if they did anything like that, I and many other members I would imagine would be gone. Its not like they will though... They need as many members posting as possible. The more members there are, the more traffic the site gets, the more people that see there ads, the more money companies pay.

Guys, let's try to give Robb from IB the benefit of the doubt. I can't see the future, but I can tell you that he's been very positive, responsive, and open with the user-base.

Long story short, I wouldn't start burning the new management at the stake unless you express your concerns directly and get told to jump off a bridge.

Cool Re: and so it begins!

Guys, take a breath. Breathe in through the nose, out through the mouth....okay, better?

Let me try now and address some of your concerns:

More ads on the site? There is only one more ad on the site then what we had previously. That is at the bottom of the message board. I am of course assuming you are logged in the board to read the site and post/reply. If you are not logged in, there are some extra ads added within posts and on images. I really think your claims that the site is loaded with ads are untrue.

If they would fix the darn double log in issue it would not be nearly as bad. Ironically today it took one try, but that happens once in 200 log ins I bet.
There is no know problem that I know of. Some people have reported this in the past and it was due to a cookie problem. Make sure you are bookmarking/entering the site the same way when you login. For example - bookmark the message using https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/index.php.

Even if we had had hundreds more premium members, we would still be getting more adds because of the corporation who bought this site and no longer gives a **** about its members.
I have to respectfully disagree with this comment. All you guys make this site what it is. IB is not going to alienate our members by loading the site with ads, it's simply not true. They are committed to our site and community here folks. I only ask that you give it a chance. Jason and I are still here running things as well, we didn't go anywhere.

Let me try and point out a few cool things that IB has already added to our community since they purchased it:

New and Improved Search! Have you tried using it yet? It's a new search engine that actually WORKS now. Some of the biggest complaints I received over the years was the inconsistency of the search engine here. They fixed that by adding a new search engine to the site, it even searches images too! And IB actually OWNS Vbulletin so they are experts and can add a lot of great stuff here.

Z28 Live - A cool new feature that lets you see what people are posting and replying to LIVE.

Updated Social Bookmarks - Facebook Like / Google Plus / E-mail / Reddit / Twitter. You can share any post on these social networks now.

There is more coming too! I'm extremely excited for this community in a days and weeks ahead. Please post up any questions or concerns that you may have and we'll be happy to answer or address any of these.

Re: and so it begins!

One observation that I may only be noticing because we're paying attention to the advertising specifically.

It looks like some of the new advertisers are using the annoying habit of 'flashing'... having fast moving graphics that trigger your eye to look at it. The result for me is a feeling of annoyance at whatever is being advertised, then I shut off my sensitivity to motion and ignore it... but some vendors think it's a good idea apparently.

Not sure if you were putting up those sorts of ads before... but I never noticed them (most of your old advertising supporters had nice static ads).

Oh joy, looks like I can now add this to the list of sites that incessantly advertise Rackspace Cloud services to me. Which I find fairly hilarious since I'm already a customer...

Re: and so it begins!

I'm logged in and getting ads both at the top & side bar with Firefox....

Of course they are the typical Ads on many sites now so I just ignore them...

But it does seem the top bar is no longer supporting vendors only. I ALWAYS checked out the top ads previously, in case there was a cool deal I was interested in (knowing they were site related made it easy).

Edit: I just reviewed, and the thread started 11/7, it's now a week later and we've not heard from Robb @ IB. I don't expect instant response, but I would think with a newly run board at least acknowledging that he's aware within a week's time would be helpful.

I stand on the concerned side ATM, and really do look forward to IB's response and ideas, BUT i would like to feel as though they are truly involved and not just going to run the board into something we as users are not interested in.

So far simply dropping in Ad changes is not unexpected, but without any word from them on details it begs the question: 'What does that mean for future changes?'

@Koso... maybe when you're logged in, you can't see your own ad? Just a guess.

I'm finding a number of very small technical glitches or inconsistencies... I'm confident they're working on them. Again, may I respectfully suggest you PM the folks who can actually help you out, as opposed to posting in an open forum to those of us who really can't do anything.

EDIT: Here's what your ad looks like. Goes well with your post that your ad's not showing
