wax
The Meguiar's GC wax would be a waste to do multiple coats, since it contains cleaners, which would strip the previous coat. The only reason I could see for doing multiple coats would be for the extra cleaning effect if needed.
Mother's makes a pure carnauba wax and some cleaner-type waxes as well. The cleaner waxes will not layer, and as Carl said, even the pure carnaua waxes won't really layer or stack coats like a polymer product. If you are going to apply multiple coats of a carnauba wax, it would be better to use a nonabrasive or noncleaner wax.
