Post Rubbing Compound

I have some stuff on my front clip that i have no idea what it is(bought the car used), and i have not been able to get it off. It looks really bad. Im hoping rubbing compund will help, but im also afraid that it will hurt the paint. Any advice or oppinions are greatly appreciated.

Im not really sure what exactly rubbing compound is, but i have heard about it. Thanks.

I'd try a clay bar first. Rubbing compound is very abrasive. If not used properly, it can remove paint pretty quick.

Try polishing compound. Someone told me once its not as abrasive as rubbing compound. Its worked great for me a few times
