Paint Question Need Help

I have a pewter 99 Camaro and just got my new SS hood painted and it is darker than the rest of the car and they told me to wait abot 3 or 4 weeks and wax it and it will bring the pigment out of it and it will match the rest of my car. Is this true or is he just blowin smoke up my ***?

They got the paint code and ordered the paint from GM but thats all they did.

Re: Paint Question Need Help

They should of sprayed some test panels first, then they could of tinted the paint to make it match perfectly. Too bad. Some colors are harder to match than others.

Yeah, if they didnt color match, depending how old your car is, there might be some fade in your original car color, so it will be off a little bit if they just used the original paint from GM
