spoiler nicks and chips

What is the best compound to use to fill in nicks, chips, and scratches in my Trans Am spoiler? It is a black '96 WS6 if that matters at all. What is the actual spoiler even made out of? I had one guy tell me it was fiberglass and another tell me it was a polyurethane (sp ) and fiberglass mix. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

A compound it's going to do anything for rock chips. You'll need touch-up paint (possibly followed by sanding and polishing).

Re: spoiler nicks and chips

I don't just want to paint over a gap in my spoiler, it needs to be filled in with something, that is why I was asking what to use. We are not talkign a lil scratch or anything here, there is a piece missing from it about 1" long and maybe an 1/8" wide. I am planning on getting the whoel thing repainted after wards, jsut would rather do that part myself so i do not have to pay someone else to do it

I see. I'm not aware of any D-I-Y fix for something like that, but maybe someone with more body shop experience might help you.

There are many products out there that will do an acceptable job...
Just get a tube of bondo from walmart, sand and degrease before you apply it. If it's a hole, use a chunk of nylon screen held flush to the undersurface with a thead, while you fill around the thread, stop slightly below finished surface... when dry, snip the thread flush, skim coat with filler, let dry, sand, sand with Progressively finer paper till you're happy with it...

Lil Dog in a big pound... Arf!
