Hot water washes take off wax...??
Is this ture? I read somewhere that the hot water washes strip the wax off your car, I figured that cant be true or why would like ever single car wash use hot water.
or does it depend on the wax used?

Carnauba waxes can melt away from sitting in the sun, but I don't think ordinary hot water will do away with them. Hot water will probably cause carnauba waxes to dissipate sooner rather than later. Hot water has no effect on Zaino. Neither does the sun.
Water boils at 212, a black car on a sunny 95 degree day has surface temps well above 200 degrees, so unless you are going to boil your hot water and then wash the car, it will not hurt the wax finish.....
No! Some people don't like to use hot water, but this is in fact my favorite type of wash!!! It isn't necessary in the summer, but when its cold, the hot water wash is excellent for cleaning. I believe it can clean more effectively than cold water.
Just use a little moderation, as the water should not be too hot. The temp. should be manageable so as you can dip your hands into the bucket without pulling them out.
Wax, by the way, is a lot more durable than it will lead you to believe. Wax has to be removed either with a degreasing agent, mild detergent (soap!), or a good paint cleaning product. Beading quality is elusive though and will wear away, as depending on the quality of your wax, its life will vary depending on the number of wax coatings, and the environment that your car is exposed to.
