engine bay

so i want to degrease my engine bay. i know nonvented (93camaro) opti dont like water . what about a 97 with a vented opti? im not going to use a high press. hose or anything. just a hose and kinda dribble it over the inner fenders and radiator support area.

Re: engine bay

ive heard of people just using plastic bags and high pressure water, i just wipe everything clean.

i would dribble the water tho, but thats just me. u could try some degreaser and then compressed air

Re: engine bay

When I wash my LT1 (about once a year or so) I always tuck a yellow trash bag under the intake elbow and cover the opti then I'll spray some simple green and sponge down the engine bay (fenders, under the hood, etc.) then rinse it with a hose being careful not to spray too hard around the opti.

Re: engine bay

Brother WIguy,

I tend to stay away from the spraying of water, and use a cloth that has been sprayed with some kind of cleaner. It's not that I'm afraid of the spraying of the hose/pressure washer, as some people swear that it works, it's just that with my lack of motor knowledge, if I break something in that engine bay, I would likely have to pay someone else to fix it...

Re: engine bay

Use a hand held steamcleaner & cover the opti!!!! NO cleaner needed! Good luck.
