what is a good way to restore the plastic cowl cover?
The Cowl plastic is kind of faded. It will come back with vinylx, but this only lasts a week or 2. Does anyone have. Good way to retort the plastic without replacing? It's about $230 for.the 2 sides, and is like to avoid that. Thanks.

I saw some guys on Trucks I believe use a heat gun on some plastic interior parts. They said that you could heat it up just enough to reflow the plastic without distorting the molded pattern and it would look new again.
I'm going to hit some interior parts soon on my Z28. The door panel near the window is faded out, they said that it would make it look new again. I've got some old interior parts from my IROC I'm going to test it on first to see how well it works when I actually buy a heat gun.

No need to paint... Ultima Trim and Tire Guard is by far the best stuff I have ever used for cowls. I use it on all my customers cars and it turns faded white cowls back to black and best of all.. It lasts. I have had it on my car for over 7 months and it still looks like the day I put it on. It's a little more expensive but a small drop goes a long way.
I put it on anything that is supposed to be black and plastic
This one was pretty much grey because it was faded so bad.
Here is an after pic
Here is another one... You can see the comparison.
And here is another 50/50 shot of the grill. Left side has it and right side is faded so bad.
