Driving over the unthinkable

Hey guys, I need some advice from you experts. I just drove my new 2002 firehawk over some kind of industrial grey powder compound. I think it's some kind of drywall mix. The road was wet so this powder mixed with water to make a sticky glue like substance. I know I shouldn't have been driving my new f-body in the rain but after a shift at work the weather changes. I just recieved my first zaino car-care kit last week and haven't had a chance to use anything yet although my kit doesn't have much for this mess. I tried Z-7 car-wash with hot water and a sponge and that removed the gunk from the clear-coated paint. Hope I don't get swirls from the sponge. I used the rougher side of the sponge under the fenderwell but it needs more work to get it all out. But the tires, This stuff is caked in the tire tread and on the tires, thank god it's only on one side of the car. How can I get this gunk off my tires? Any advice will be truly appreciated by this big f-body fan who's a bit of a newbie when it comes to car-care.

You could try lacquer thinner or brake cleaner
