2 questions - gritty paint and touchup paint
ok, first of all, the paint on my rear bumper cover has an almost gritty feel to it...a clay bar helped somewhat, but it's still nowhere near as smooth as the rest of my paint. It also looks a little dull, nowhere near as glossy as the rest of the car, even though it has just as many millions of coats of zaino as the rest of it...Before winter, I am replacing my passenger side ground effect, and getting it and my front bumper cover painted while I'm at it (spiderwebbing paint, some bug/rock damage). Is there something besides the clay bar that will improve the paint on my rear bumper or should I go ahead and pay a lil extra to get it painted too while I'm at it?
Second question, over the winter, I plan on fixing a few stone chips here and there (gonna be flawless in the spring
). I haven't priced touchup paint at the dealership, but knowing how their prices tend to be, I'd imagine it's not cheap. Am I better off getting touchup paint from the dealership, or is duplicolor or similar products the same quality?

Well first off your bumper sounds like it has been painted before. So maybe its only solution is to have it repainted. When your car is at the body shop ask them to wet sand it and buff it back.If that does'nt help or they suggest otherwise to just repaint it go for it should only be 300-700 pending on what kind of shop they are.The body shop can save you the extra paint left from doing your car for you no need for dealer or stupid color.(after all your paying for the paint)

well isn't the touchup paint you buy in the lil bottles a single-phase system as opposed to a base coat/clear coat? If I'm touching up stone chips here and there, I don't want them to look different because they don't have a clearcoat, and I don't think re-clearcoating the whole car after touching things up would be very cost effective
