Post 1st wax

Im about to detail the hell out of my car. I live with my sister now out in the boon docks and cant afford to drive to see my friends everyday so this weekend hopefully ill wash and wax the beast.

Just wondering what type of wax should I use that I can buy at like autozone pep boys ect.

Also what do you guys wash your windshield with? I always get streeks whats a sure fire way to end the streaks?

Almost forgot how should I go about cleaning my engine bay?

Since im out here where the closest neighbors are cows I also would like to know whats the best way for getting all these bug guts off of my front end?

Well, Zaino out of the question due to lack of stores, but try Meguiars Gold Class. I think you'll like it.

Stoners Invisible Glass Cleaner. Nuff said.

My roommate used Simple Green... WOW! I didn't think it'd work that good

Mothers Claybar. AutoZone and PepBoys carry them. Just make sure the car is lubbed up with car soap (NOT DISH SOAP) when you clay. Go ahead and claybar the whole car, trust me.

Get a good car soap while you're at it. I've had success with Blue Coral in the past, and it's cheap.

And if you have swirls, grab some 3M Swirl Mark Remover (make sure you get light or dark formula depending on your car). Best applied with a buffer, but if you have a strong arm, you'll be fine.

Maybe grab an absorber and some detailing towels while you're at it, to prevent future swirlies.

Hope this helps

303 Aerospace Protectant is the best I've seen for interiors. I was recommended it through this board, and I'm now finding the rumors to be true. It's a great product.

As far as leather, head to a department store, grocery store, or even WalMart, and look for Lexol leather products. Just as good as Zaino's, just without the super sweet "new leather" smell.

For t-tops, try Stoners Invisible Glass. I'm going to be using Zaino Z12 glass polish on the t-tops of my project 01'SS. I'll post the results of that.

If you get Zaino, you can actually use a TINY bit of Z6 spray to shine the glass up if it's already clean.

Hope this helps.
