Y-Pipe that actually FITS Hooker LTs!

I've heard that the mufflex sucks. The stainless works is only 2.5". The new hooker y-pipe is supposedly off too. Anyone want to get rid of a used y-pipe (preferably one that was on a 4L60E car?

Read the thread in the group purchases section. A few people have gotten it and said it was off by a couple inches.

I had a post a little while back and Fred had this to say about the Mufflex y-pipe. "I've been through this in detail with the owner of Mufflex. The problems that occured a couple years ago were the result of poor quality control on the Hooker end, when they transferred their header fabrication to Mexico. People were getting headers with collectors sticking out every which way, and the 3-bolt flanges were "upside down" at times. Mufflex builds the Y-pipes in a jig... there are no variations in the dimensions of the pipe they produce. The problem was in the dimensional variations Hooker was getting with the Mexican plant startup.

In order to cope with the extremes of dimensions on the Hookers, Mufflex changed the design to put an additional piece on the drivers side tube, to allow it to be rotated to match the width problems with the Hookers, and started using a "loose" 3-bolt flange to allow the new piece to rotate, and accomodate the mismatched Hooker flange alignment."
