It's not terribly critical.. maybe whoever does his valvejobs is stoning them, but I'd doubt it - that went out years ago. Either way, nice guy who seems to do a fair job for a fair price

What were ya sellin again?
No guys my heads are not for sale

To answer the this question in the quote, yes my heads as mentioned before after 3 years & 4 setups somehwere along the line the seats got hammered aswell, Lloyd did a 3 angle valve job & new valves for me so at this point .015 variance on the valves is awesome on a set of hurt heads.

PS the .015 variance is exhaust is .015 taller then intake. intake to intake they is prolly like .001 or something cuz you can't even see it on a straight edge, but the ehxuast is .015 taller, & all the exhaust are the same aswell.

Cool

Sounds like Lloyd gives great attention to detail, I have read nothing but GOOD about his work. Do you have any pics of the art work on the heads.
I am not a critic, I just love head artist

I dunno considering all the machine shop work was free of charge I say its pretty dang good for him to even try to do all this for me, but the heads look incredible, did I ever tell anyone how much they flow ?

@ .600 = intake 287, exhaust 201
@ .500 = intake 283, exhaust 192

These are also true numbers, no pipe was used on the exhaust to make the number seem bigger

Thats dang good IMO

As for pics I might post them later on tonight

Man, I wish I shoulda got Lloyd to do my heads instead of Skarodom....

Well, let me ask this.....Why does it seem to me that these heads that flow "28x and 19x or 2xx" only dyno like 380 most of the time? That kind of power seems to me more like a head that flows 25x-26x and 18x. So it seems to me that people like buying fak-ish flow numbers, and dont really care what the car makes on the dyno or what kind of times it runs at the track.

"My Lloyd heads made 380 rwhp and it runs 12.4 at 110 at the track. I love them, they are the greatest ever!"

How many times have we all seen that. Hell, my car went 12.3 at nearly 110 with bolt ons and 300 to the wheels. If thats the kind of time and mph everyone is happy with, I suggest just sticking to bolt ons. But if you want real power and good times at the track, actually pay someone to do them.

Well like i said, I think lloyd is a fair deal for the average guy. Russ, you aren't exactly average.. you're.. well you're something LOL.

As far as flow #'s.. I quit even giving them out to people. Everyone wants flowbench #'s & not dyno #'s. If i told you I finally got my 300cfm LT1 head (on an sf600/4.060 bore/etc.) then people would go nuts. If i made the same power with a head that flowed 27Xcfm.. they'd act like it wasn't worth mentioning.

Flow #'s aren't a good thing, lest you're willing to fluff them a bit like everyone else. That's my opinion on it anyway, since I deal with the stuff every day .

Ahh well, it's not reality so much as the perception of reality eh?! . Lloyd is a nice guy, glad you're happy. Go strap it down.

..

Oh.. I've got my honest 30Xcfm casting. You'll be seeing it soon enough

Take care, good luck with your stuff!

These heads with hammered seats/guides so bad that oil was getting on the plug & misfiring on the dyno still made my power. I hope you realize that this is only with this cam & misfiring, before the cam & the misfiring the dyno numbers were:

413.5RWHP
391.5RWTQ

13.5 A/F through out most of the run, richen her up & I bet the numbers would have been even better.

this is with all the same stuff but before the misifiring & cc306. So before you assume things please ask, there is no point posting those numbers because the setup is changed & problems occured since those numbers, but reason I don't give up on the heads is because prior to all the issues those were the numbers & I'm going a different route all together now, but thinking of putting in an even bigger cam now that the heads are fixed up with all the extra goodies & then hitting the best NA numbers then going with a Turbo setup which is my goal.

So am I happy with the heads? Yes, happy with my car ever since my setup change? No but there were some major issues like I stated, above 4k rpm the thing just sputtered.

The last owner of the heads was Smoke-T/A so you guys know his numbers.

Bunker - So did you switch from the 306 to the 236/242, or vice versa. I am thinking about running the 306 with lloyds heads soon, and was just wondering why you took it out if you did.
Thanks
Brandon
