Theft deterent idea

Anybody thought about using a line lock in conjunction with your alarm system. I figure it could really help in stopping the average thief. Just basically rig it up to the same circuit as the alarm, and also set it up to come on when power to the alarm is cut.

The down side would of course be if it came on while you were driving.

Any thoughts? The only one I have seen which might be better is that flame thrower system being sold in South Africa.

I liked that flame thrower idea, but I'd like to avoid the bloody lawsuit that would come with it. Too bad. LOL!

I know its not really a deterrent, but I like having a tracking system on the car (either cellular or satellite). As well, lots of flashing little LEDs for the alarm and engine disabler.

When you buy a line lock there is a warning to not use it any longer than 60 seconds I believe it was.

They can only with stand a certain amount of preasure for a certain amount of time. Then it will just quit on ya.

LOL... Imagine coming back to your car after someone broke into it and seeing that you don't have any rear tires left.

Ya I thought of the same thing a while back, your brake seals wouldnt much like having pressure in them for a long time. Even If they could deal with that line locks are normally off/momentary on systems. Means that if the power cuts out the line lock releases. On my truck I have a locking pin that goes through the park brake and wont allow you to release it. THe camaro set up is the same, only smaller so it should work.

Locking pin is a pretty cool idea. Definately would make the person think if they saw a big padlock on the hand brake. Might look into that. Also, I do like the idea of the tracking system, but too many people know how to dissable them. Might still be a good idea as I get deeper into the 5 digit numbers on the car as a suplementary system like for when the person simply picks it up with a tow truck.

Already have nice stuff like complete ignition cutoff with a switch. The person can crank the engine all day, and nothing will happen but run down the battery and kill the starter. Better that than have the car stollen.

It can still be dragged onto a flatbed tow truck and taken away........
