The specs on that C6 are making me gag... holy ISH talk about a supercar!

Isn't the Z06 just 40hp more than the standard C5, with a lot of that coming from the revised exhaust system? Are there other changes besides this? 'cause if it's the same engine... just mod it yourself, have less badges, and be more sleeper But then again... if a Z06 is your dream car, go straight to Z06 land...

Personally I'd wait for the C6 to come out. The C5 prices will drop when that happens, just as soon as all the old guys decide to sell the 'old car' and get a new one

the Z06 has a whole differnt motor .. its got the LS6 as opposed to the LS1 that goes in the C5s

the LS6 has a different block (better oil passages etc), LS6 heads (totally different), LS6 cam... dunno about the exhaust or whatnot .. but it has better suspension and more pimp factor

but id never buy a Z06 .. i like the open top or convertible . ZZ06s are only hardtops .. with the extra 10 grand i'll have leftover from buying a C5 id mod it the way i want it to spank the Z06 in any way

Yes it takes up space when I don't drive it but so what? After it's done being worked on, it'll drive like a dream. I'll never get my money back for it so why would I want to sell it? If I want something different I'll buy it, but until then I'm happy with what I got."
umm everysingle 2003 says 50th in the corvette symbol on the front atleast

The 20 inch HRE's will be over $10,000 by themselves. My old roommate just bought 20 inch Lowenharts for his 350z and they where $13,000 after tax

Figure on a mod budget of atleast $20,000 to get a regular C5 to the same "wow" factor of the ZO6.

the C6 is suppposdily going to be close to the same price as the current C5's. They don't want to move from the sweet spot they are in. That said, with all the improvements and more hp base, its pratically guaranteed to be a hot seller. And for people like us looking at C5's, it'll have to drive the price down..

I've been eyeing Vette's too.. Its tough.. base model will be relatively cheap (and if you want better handling, the Z51? option is avail) On the other hand, the converts would be a neat ride.. Targa roof would be nice, but so would a hardtop... Z06 is fast and handles great without too much of an aditional comfort penalty.. and the ones with the magnetic shocks would probably be a great cruiser to also have fun in.

And if the rumors are right, and the new C6 Z06 will have 500 hp.. and will still be priced in the same price range.. Its almost worth $$ wise to just get that than trying to modify a C5 to keep up...

I was tinkering around with selling my 99 Z28 to get a Vette.. but the Camaro is paid for now.. and still has plenty of life in it.. and its trade in value isn't steller.. Maybe when I put on alot more miles on it, I might consider trading it in the future.. but then it really won't have any trade in value.. and will have lots of intrinsic value.. but unless I move someplace else with a bigger garage, I can't have two cars to take care of and garage.. I'll just wait till then when I have to cross that bridge.

Here are my reasons for considering letting the hawk go. First off, Oldschool is right and I should have bought a vet in the first place. I've owned three awesome f-bodys already and the hawk truly is the best of the bunch. I'm growing a little tired of the f-body interior even though I totally redid mine. I also had this stress crease in the rear quarter-panel, hardly noticeable to the naked eye unless you got up real close. I'm very **** about my wheels and had it fixed even though Constrictor, a moderator at LS1.com told me to live with it. But I've always wanted a vet and the new ones keep getting better and better. Last year when I bought the hawk I was comming up a little short of cash for a new vet and used C5's at the time were very pricey. I recieved $8,000.00 of the list price of the hawk and it being the last year and all plus the firehawk is quite rare and I like rare cars. A car like the vet is just the next step up the sports car ladder. I have some great memories and experiances from the hawk and I will cherish them forever. Every time I cruise around in it I get lots of compliments, pointing, waving and what not and makes you feel good but the new C6 vet has me drooling and the new C5 could be a steal.

Yo 1999V6, if you have 50th I'd like to know how much you paid and a test drive would be cool. I'm going vet shopping on thursday, I'll come to Surrey and check yours out. Thanks dude.

Yo Brez, the destination of the firehawk has yet to be determined. I'm going vet shopping the next couple of days but I very much doubt I'll buy anything yet. I'm working on 10 or 20 coats of zaino to make the hawk look better than new. I'll post the best deals I can find late friday night. I'm leaning towards ordering a new C6. Firehawk guys like custom orders.
