this car is starting to **** me off.

 

if the engine turns over strong and sputters (and barely idles at 400rpm) i'd suspect fuel first, and maybe a big vacuum leak. How is your fuel pressure?

 

check the fuel pressure. You may still hear the pump working but it may not be giving enough fuel for the engine to start or run properly. One of my friend's cars had this problem.

I would prob check for spark first. If you can here the pump it is more then likely still alive. Its when you cant here it or it sounds like a dying cat you have a problem . First things first pull the plug wire check for spark. No spark back up to the coil or coil pcks whatever the hell that thing has. Is it throttle body injection or what is it. I cant remember havent seen under the hood of one of things in a while. IF it is throttle body injection you should be able to see it dumping fuel throught the injector. But whatever check spark first then come back it may just be a bad coil slash coil pack.

went back out there today and tried it 2 times and it started right up the second time. WTF i swear it has a mind of its own and it only works when it wants to. i dont know if it could have anything to do with sitting for 2-3 weeks.
Jim id like to burn it but it has to last one more year. that is why it pisses me off so much didnt have a single problem with it till like a yr ago.

 

My car had similar problems a few years ago. I had to replace the entire ecu. I got a new one from GM, that they said was an upgraded part. I was told that if the ecu didnt' fix it, i could take it back. I never had another problem with it.
