Re: lighting vs lt-1

Try to keep her less violent in here boys. Lightning is a alright truck and i am glad to see your guys running strong however i have seen several at my local track struggle for a low 14. But once again not all cars are created equal some run faster then others my lt1 when stock with a y pipe and a intake ran a 13.2 @ 108 on street tires it also dynoed close to 300 at the wheels with just that. But ranting and raving that the lightning will walk a lt1 is a very misguided statement just be happy with it will be a close race. If we go in to the ls1 category given equal drivers it wont even be close

Play nice

Re: lighting vs lt-1

all i know is that ive had four different lightnings pick on me on the highway, from a 100k roll and when i drop it in second gear, all the lightnings have seen are my taillights. personally i dont care what they do at the track, all i know is from experience and from a 100k roll my stock lt1 schooled em.

LT1Z28...maybe these guys here believe your story..but I don't race fantasy LT1's with a y-pipe and a intake(which intake also..not like you can just buy one of numerous models)that hit 108. G-tech, right?

93formula...you think you could take my Lightning on the highway...

Re: lighting vs lt-1

only one way to find out ford boy. but since your not even local why bother asking ********?

also mikes (lt1z28) numbers were wittnessed by many on this board, at the track not gtech, which must be where you pull your lightnings numbers out of.

Re: lighting vs lt-1

Highway on the way to the track and then again, several times, at the track itself.

98 Z28 - 3000 converter, cat-back, lid, slp mids, intake

From 50mph and 60mph the Z got it handed to him. At the track Dustin's Z has gone 12.77 at 109 albeit on DR but averages in the 13.teens on radials.

Canton's Lightning is quick, seriously quick for a truck. He pulls me consistantly on the freeway, I've simply stopped trying for the time being.

Soon enough, i'll take it out though.

A near stock LT1 running 108mph is no more outrageous then your Lightning doing the same.

your car being an auto could be why it got its *** handed to it on the highway.
