IHI turbo! Test fitting it. Pics here
I think what I said has been taken out of context. First of all i was only joking about the boneheads comment hense the "
".
Secondly, Never did I claim to know more than any chasis guy. The only point i was trying to make is that a stiffer suspension will not necessarly hurt you as long as you can get the car to hook up. Pulling the wheels does not always=low 60' foots.
Jason- My car has 90/10's. 50/50's, Drag springs, traction bars, and so on. My suspension is set up as well as u can for drag without breaking the bank. I spun the tires into 3rd that night cause im trying to put 800 horsepower on a true 10 inch slick in crappy conditions on a S/L night. Show me a mustang around here thats making more power than me on the small tire and gets there car down the track better, there is none. When i came back the following week i didnt spin the tires in the day time but had other problems and only ran a 10.38@140, later the same night I ran 9.82@140 spinning and back pedeling the car. Whats my point...the point is that for you to say my suspension is crappy is out of line. I have talked to chasis guys before, they all say the same thing, its just too much power for the small tire especially in crappy conditions. The only thing i can add is an anti roll bar.
Now back to the topic at hand, Yes perhaps I did mis-read, in all honesty i didnt even read the whole tread, just the parts where you guys said Payam wont be able to hook with stiffer suspension and that an efficent chasied car will pull wheelies. My only point is that an efficent chasis=little wasted energy. Street car wise, look at Jason Gibsons 66 mustang, the car doenst pull the tires or anything, it just goes, yet just by switching to a 4 link and big tire hes knocked 7 tenths off his ET's. My Buddy Todds car will be the same way next year, will go much faster with a 4 link and big tire, no it wont do big wheelies anymore but it will be much more efficent and therefore be faster. My whole point is that drag suspension is not a nessicty to hook a car, big tires make up for a lot. And 90/10's and what not are not always the best cause there is such thing as pulling the wheels to much. A few Guys in the states in true street went from 90-10's to a stiffer front suspension and gained over a tenth.
I think Jason said it best, the only way is to go out and try. I can have my theory, and everyone can have there own but the only way to know for sure is to go out and try.

just to make things clear i never said your suspension was crappy, nor do i think that. i just think theres room for inprovement but that all comes with cost factors that i am very well aware of cuz i myself have a strict budget. all i due time i guess. time to mini tub it eh
just to make things clear this was never a wheelie vs no wheelie argument, there plenty of cars that do both out there. we were discussing optimal traction and suspension/chassis issues. i know well enough that you dont need to wheelie to get what you desire, like i said in my previous post its just one method to obtaining the ultimate goal of max traction and power transfer. 4 links, ladder bars, coil over setups, drag shocks and tire size to gear ratio, roll cages, sub frames, motor/tranny mounts, bushings all play parts in the matter in getting what is desired, like i said before its a plethora of comlicated geometry and calculations and factors that all combine to get what you need.
like i said and you agree on we just gotta try and see. but 600rwhp is a ton of power and a 10.5 wide slick isnt that much with roadhandling suspension with all my knowledge and beliefs in the matter and experiences along with others i dont think it will work and im sure of it the 60" wont be great and inconsistant, but hey its not my car and not my decision so all that can be done is watch and see what happens. i got my car and setup to worry about. all i care about is the goals i got set to achieve next year.
if i just so happen to get some kills along the way then yay me
dont worry greg im not going for your 9 sec crown, although i am considering nos next year so it might just be an option if everything goes right
i got to work with a half a ton more then your car
no promises on that one

hey jason .. looks like u've been missing the whole point
I DONT WANT MY CAR TO BE A DRAG CAR NO MORE ... i dont care for the best 60' .. and i dont care for the best ET ...
i'll try to get it by putting the biggest tires i can fit (10.5w) but if that aint enough .. then so be it .. i'll live with my 1.80 60's and still go deeper in the 11s that i have and have a car that can be thrown around corners and all the other gravy

What Payam said here I agree with. Other goods points by blue 79 and bunker. As far as the Supra goes, I liked the last ones with the big factory spoiler. Any other are butt ugly. Nice turbo though, the Supra will need more upgrades than that to impress me, like upgrade the whole car into an f-body or vette rice boy.
I have a G bodsy in my cutlass and that is the SLOW car.
The new Supra is cool but looks like a bubble. Everyone had their own opinions I guess.
My car will be making between 550-600 WHEEL power. Oh and on an inline 6. What do you have that you are so stuck on with power of the F body
I say anything over 400 wheel horse power on ANY car is impression but hey, that is just me.

My Supra KILLS vettes so why would I want one of those.? Far more hp and has the handling, style and comfort not to mention gas milage than the vette to. Don't get me started on that. The lines of the MKIII are very well thought out. The F&F has everyone thinking they are THE car. They are a nice car to but to each is own I guess.
You have been watchng to many movies dude
What is pie? I don't know what your talking either
