Compression Test

Anyone know what 11:1 compression would give you in PSI?
I've been testing and I got an approximate average of 200 dry and 210 wet.

Does that sound right? I was thinking that it should be more into the 220 range.

Alot of your cranking pressure depends on the camshaft you are running.A more aggressive cam will bleed off more cylinder pressure. At the 200 you have, that is alot!

My cam is pretty much like the 306 cam. The only real diferance is that mine is 113 LSA and it has a few more degrees on the intake. I think the lift might be a bit more too.

So you think 200ish sounds right?

You can't determine compression ratio that way but yeah generally 200 PSI is a lot, but the cam/valve job/etc.. has everything to do with your pressure drop, that cam is considered small for your 383 so it would have good compression, I wonder what mine would show LOL plus in a 350.

To answer your question if 200psi is ok,the answer is yes!Ive seen alot of perf. motors[& im talking 700hp+ wo nos]have way less cranking pressure than that.I'll bet that thing is finiky on gas octane as well?Overall that sounds like a really nice piece, lots of torqe I'll bet!
