Getting this thread back on track:
It seems that in the last year, we have had a LOT of new members join CZ8.com, and subsequently more questions, concerns, and issues.
Here's a quick background: BC Team F-Body was started last year by a small group of us that wanted to make our online presence a little more formal. We wanted to organize meets, drag races, social events, cruises, etc. to promote our club and earn a respectful reputation in the automotive community. We had a few meetings, some dinners and even a cruise or two. We put together some flyers, a quick website and some creative ideas for the future. The plan for 2003 was to collect fees and actually implement some of the ideas we had last year.
In my honest opinion, this is how we should proceed:
1. Have a meeting for interested participants. This will be the venue for club discussions, and we can discuss what membership fees to have, if any, and why. New members will now be able to interact with existing members, and everyone will know where their money is going to.
2. Delegate responsibility. There is no need for 50 members to have to confront 50 responsibilities. We need to divide and conquer: different members will be in charge of different aspects of our group. For example, we have committees for drag races, marketing, cruises, auto-x, dyno-days, mechanics, socials, etc. If we have one or two people in charge of their own portfolio, more will be acheived and everyone will be on the same wavelength.
3. We must align ourselves with existing groups. Why reinvent the wheel? I have ties with the UBCSCC and BC Corvette Club, some of you know other sports car clubs. Let's unite and synergetically utilize the resources that are already present.
4. Each one of us has a hook-up. Its time to call in your favours, boys. I know several internet programmers, web developers, print shops, financial analysts, lawyers, mechanics, club promoters, etc. I'm sure you all know several hook-ups as well. Let's gather up the raw materials and build something great.
5. Word of mouth is our best friend. Most of us run our mouths incessantly on this fourm, let now use this verbal diarrea to our advantage.
Sorry if I sound bossy or too aggressive, but I'm on several community councils and memberships, and my expertise is technology and logistics. If this is gonna work, we have to be efficient and productive. Actions speak louder than words people, so lets get a meeting date and time organized.
The End.

Good points Aly,
Just to let you guys know for me, that I cannot commit to anything this year. 2003 will be a busy year for me so I wish you luck with getting the team/club setup. I should have more time next year.
I will also monitor and try to keep tack of the events and such. Possibly make it out to one or two.
