To All Paid BCTFB Members
My site is in its final stages of construction...I estimate 2 weeks for the main site to be completed and another week or so for BCTFB.com to be added in. For those that didn't attend the first few meetings this year, I'm creating an online car-enthusiast community for ALL makes/models/styles of vehicles. The site will focus primarily on domestic muscle cars, but there WILL be an area for imports as well.
My goal: to have an ORGANIZED presence in the Pacific Northwest as unified car community, specifically, a regional muscle car club. When the actual contents/design of the site are finalized, I'll post with all the details, URL, etc.
Most importantly, there will be a DEDICATED section for BCTFB - our own URL, Member Pages, Calendar of Events, etc. This way we don't have to force non-members to read through all our BS on a day-to-day basis.
The point of THIS thread is for all paid members of BCTFB: I need your first name, last name, all the details/mods of your car, planned mods, a little about yourself, and a LINK to high quality pics of your car. I need this info to get my developers to begin making the Member Pages. Please place all of this info into a text file and email it to me as an attachment.
Thanks for taking the time to read this long message...it WILL be worth it in the end

Thanks for all the info guys, keeep it coming.
Sandeep, my name is spelled with a "Y" not an "I"
.
Rudy yes, I want to have a T&A section but that will take some time...posting pics takes a LOT of memory which is very $$$. I'll see what I can do

The page will use a bunch of technology:
The static pages will employ the following:
*(D)HTML
*Photoshop
The dynamic pages will employ the following:
*PHP (server-side)
*XML
*JScript (client-side)
*We may use ASP/VBScript in the future
The database maintenance will be conducted by:
*MySQL
The Bulletin Board itself will be powered by:
*PHP
For advertisements and ad banners, I will probably use:
*Flash
*Premiere
*Animated .GIF's
This depends on how much money the client is spending, on how long of an advertising contract they wish to commit to.
I will also have Email Notification and Customer Response tracking in the future - I'm not sure what technology I will use here.
The server OS:
*Linux/Unix
*Apache Web Server
In the future, I will be adding an eCommerce component with Shopping Carts, Order Processing and Cutomer Tracking...I haven't decided what technologies to use yet.
The member pages will be for BCTFB members only. I am, however, planning on compiling a member page section for ALL site users in the future...but the BCTFB section will remain separate.
I hope this answers your questions...let me know if you have any others

Sounds good!
so, are you paying people to do this site for you? Or is it a community effort?
I also do quite a bit of php webwork and database programming (both on my own as well as my everyday profession)
Perhaps we can get together
I'd love to be involved if possible!

Thanks for the offer Jeff...any advice/suggestions to the site as well as offers of help are greatly appreciated

To answer your question, half of the site was already built last year (for a school project) but it was never finished. I started work right after school, so I have very little time to construct the site myself...so I hired a developer to help me out.
Once the site is up, let me know if you can make any improvments.
Thanks
