I didn't even know about the $40 membership. Count me in.
I can't wait till the summer.
We should get some shirts and some stickers made!
Nothing to flashy, just simple and cool looking....
I think we should come up with a wicked emblem first, so we could make a small sticker out of it. Then we could put the emblem on the front of a shirt and crazy mural for the back. Is there anybody who is good at making things like this on the computer??

I would like to get all the club cars together and spend a day taking pictures at various locations.

That way I can make up a better flyer / opeing page for the web site.

If we could get some video feeds of cruises / events / parties / etc. just to give people an idea what kind of club we are and were the member fees are going!
I think this is a great idea!
i also agree w/ Payam that everyone must commited or else is just sucks!
I say we all get flyers and put em on f-fody's we see around to get more well known. We can even give them out @ Mission raceway and stuff like that!
WE can make this big!
But we need a good commitment!

I was even thinking like lil stickers to put on the rear windows w/ the website addy. my friends in a mustang club and they got TONS of members doin that!

Why charge people?

You'll get WAY more members if its free... Not everyone wants to be involved ALL the time, or even ALOT... And while there is a hardcore group here that would be going all the time, thats not the case with everyone...

40 bucks goes towards what?
flyers and stuff? What are these flyers for? To gain more members? To let people know that the group is going to have a show? T-Shirts? Stickers, banners, etc... ?

These things I can see asking for money for, as it would come outta someones pocket otherwise...

If we're talking about this, can we list what the dough is going to be used for?

There are always way to get stuff for free... You just have to be a little creative, and then it might allow the members to enter for free... Which would draw WAY more members!

And please note, that this isn't cause i'm cheap, hehehe... I wouldn't be joining either way yet... At least until I get my car running decent. As I wouldn't really be going to any shows, nor cruises... But I look forward to maybe later this summer as with any luck my Z will be in much better shape!

Yeah man, i'm down with the 40 bones but I say 40 bones should cover a life time membership. If we need more stuff l8ter on down the road then we can take it from there.

40.00 bucks is nothing...I we can justify spending thousands of dollars on mods then I think 40 bucks for some shirts, stickers, respect, Johnny's time etc. is well worth 40 bucks...it's something we can be a part of and share...cheap ***

VIFBODY will soon be charging a fee as well. Dave94Z had been paying for the website out of his own pocket, and I am covering it while he is off travelling. It is obviously advantagous if a fee is charged that would help cover things like the cost of the website, advertising, etc. As for advertising, we have business cards made up with the address of the website on it. We just tuck these under wiper blades or in weatherstripping of other f-bodies we run into. Some of us also have small decals on our cars to promote the club. Here is what they look like:

Dave and I have been selling the decals for $5 each and putting the money towards the cost of the website. I received an email from a company that wanted to advertise on our site. That would be a good way to help cover the cost of administration. Just put a column on the side of the website and place ads in there.

EDIT: Members would likely also want discounts at a few local parts/performance parts stores.

hehehe

Time I have lots of, money I don't

But your quite right... We spend 1000's on these cars, 40 bucks isn't alot...

I'm curious what it goes towards tho...

I much perfer to have free membership, and perhaps toss some dough towards flyers (if I want to goto shows, etc...), and if I WANT a t-shirt, I can then pay for one... That sort of thing.

For those of us that arn't interested in shows but still like gatherings and cruises, they can go, but they also get listed on the site and as members, so that way more members are active, bringing in more and more members...

Perhaps multi levels of membership

Basically, i'm not that happy/interested in my car at the moment, I used to be when I first got invovled with it (5-6 years ago) and I have no doubt I will again, once its fixed up more
