Re: A welcome to all new visitors of CamaroZ28.Com!
I just joined this Forum so I can learn more about the LT1 that I am putting together right now(Budget rebuild) for my son's 70 Camaro. We got the car running last year with a 91-ishTBI engine from a pickup, I changed it from an auto car to a T-56(97 SS, purchased salvage, no engine) with the stock Hydraulics for clutch release. I did all the wiring for the TBI engine, My son drove it for the summer, and it overheated, now it leaks coolant from the header on the right side. I decided that the free TBI engine wasn't enough, and that a used LT1 would be pretty easy to do. Now I have modded a 94 LT1-T56 harness to run "Stand alone" in the 70. I have the (LT1) short block hanging from a hoist right now. I will be sealing up the oil pan tomorrow. I just torqued the mains and rods after putting new bearings in. The engine had a leaking head gasket, and seems really good on the bottom end. I have a fresh set of heads to put on it..
I will try and get some pics up someday.

Hi, I just joined. I purchased a 97 camaro SS about 6 months ago. A lot of excellent info here. Camaros I owned previously were a 91 Teal green RS and a 95 z28 convertible which was purchased new.
