ZEX Boost pump

How do you install the booster pump, when there is no steel lines on a 1996 Impala SS, they are all plastic?

A brass double barbed fitting can be used; you heat it up in a toaster oven at 400F for 20 minutes, and then using a glove, install one end of the barb into the plastic fuel line. You can find them in an auto parts store; I believe they come with instructions for mending fuel lines.

You can patch an inline booser pump into the stock fuel lines, using a barb x GM plastic clip fitting from NOS. Look at the NOS online instructions for the 5176 dry kit install. I wouldn't start melting plastic lines.

Fred, the melting technique comes from the Vortech instructions for the TRex in-line pump.

Interesting, but I personally wouldn't do it, knowing I could patch it in with no possible damage to the plastic lines with the NOS configuration.

Use Fred's NOS method. I think it's best also because when your ready to upgrade pumps and remove the booster (if ever), you can just pull the fitting out and hook everything back up like stock. I just did that about 2 months ago. Had the NOS booster pump like Fred was talking about. Now twin in tanks and the stock lines are all back like stock into the filter.
