Window switch question

With my new set up I plan to make around or near 400rwhp N/A then throw a 150 shot into the mix. I know this will pretty much fry my stock A4. I know the trannys go when shifting so I was told I could throw in a window switch and have it shut off right before it shifts and help save the tranny.
Anyone do this for every gear? Second, can you do it pretty easy to were it shuts off just before every shift and and comes back on after that shift till the next? I know for a single window its easy but did not know for two.
Or would I just have it shut off at were I shift into third, I would loose a little going into second but I would only need a single window.
Or should I just wait till I have a built tranny and not mess with it?

Lots of people do it the way you are talking about.By turning the system off before shfts it will be easer on the tranny but it will cost you some time.

So would I just shut it off right before the second shift point and use just use one window and it will shut off early before shifting into second? Or can you easily have two windows, one for second gear one for third (not sure how you would wire that up).

Re: Window switch question

You only use one window switch and it is RPM based...so that it turns on from say 3000, and off at 5800rpm, regardless of which gear you are in.

Re: Window switch question

The only bummer about a window switch, is that if you shut it off at 5800, and shift at 6000, it will come back on as soon as the RPM drops below 5800, SO you end up still spraying through part of the shift.

I think that the window switch is most effective for saving the engine itself, rather than the transmission.
