What's the funtion of a window switch and would you need one if you had a progressive controller?

A window switch will let the N20 "spray" only if the engine is within a certian RPM range. For your car it would be about 3000 RPM for the turn on and will stay on untill about 5800 or 6000 RPM. This makes sure your motor is spinning fast enough when it comes on and it will turn it off before you reach your rev limiter. Also if you miss a shift or snap a u-joint and you smack your rev limiter the N20 will turn off. It is a very important piece of equipment. Cheap insurance realy. $50 - $150 is a lot cheaper then a new motor. You should be able to wire it in line with your WOT switch that goes to your progressive controller. MSD's go for $60 - $80 then you have to buy the pill sets for the turn on and turn off for about another $30 - $40 depending on where you get em. My company makes window switches too. No pills or modules and it has a built in shiftlight output. That one cost $97.95. We also have one with a first gear Lock-Out built in also. $145.95. Harlen also has one with no pills, real good price, $50 I think, but the wait is anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks to get if you can wait. No ones complained about the product, just the wait time.

Hope this helps. Write me if you have any more questions.

Ok well I shift at 6300rpm.

SHould I set the upper one to 6000 or 6400?

Also if it shuts off at 6000 and I shift at 6400, won't it shock my rings when it comes back on in the next gear?

OK, if you shift at 6300 then I take it your rev limiter is set at 6500 or 6400. Set your upper limit at 6400. You will get full N20 power your whole run and if you miss it will cut off before you hit you limiter. Haven't heard to much about ring shock between shifts. I havn't had any problems on my C5 eithor.
