Why do LT1 Dry kits come with fuel pumps?
I found a dry kit from an ls1 for a friend who has an lt1 he complained about it looking different from the kit he was recomended and after I looked around I see that the 5176 kit comes with some sort of fuel pump where as the 5177 kit doesn't is the stock Lt1 fuel pump not as good or what? Is running a hundred shot of Nitrous without upgrading any of his fuel system not recomended?
Thanks

The 5177 dry kit is for the LS1. It sprays through the MAF, so the extra fuel is added through the stock injectors at stock fuel pressure. The stock fuel pump can flow 125HP above the stock engine's fuel requirements at stock pressure.
The 5176 dry kit is for the LT1. It sprays after the MAF, so in order to get the extra fuel for nitrous through the stock injectors, the fuel pressure is raised to 85-90psi while you are spraying. In this case the stock fuel pump is not strong enough to flow the regular fuel requirement + the nitrous fuel requirement, and do it at the elevated pressure. As you increase the pressure in the system, the capacity of a pump falls off.... so you need an inline booster pump to achieve the required flow at the elevated pressure.

Thanks guys after doing a bunch of google searches I started to wonder why all lt1's were sprying after MAF sensor with dry kits. What size inline pump do mpst people go with besides the one that comes with the kit.
