question about window switch

I have a kit and window switch already but was thinking about something. If I set it to turn on at 3000 rpm's and turn off at 5600 RPMs won't it still spray through the shift if it only drops to like 3200 when I shift. Thanks in advance I would just like to know as much as possible before I spray the first time.

I don't think so if I understand your set up correctly.

At WOT you'll hit 5600 RPM the WS will cut the noids off, then the RPM will climb till what ever your shift point is set at. Then it will shift and if it's over 3200K and your foot's on the floor she'll open up again.

That's my take, but I have an M6 so better let a A4 guy give the the for sure answer.

I'm probably going to shift in the 5400 range. What I mean is if I take it up to 5400 in first by the time It shifts to second it will already be over 3000 rpms I think, which would make it spray through the shift

If that's the case I think you are correct. What trans are you running 700R4 or 4L60E ?? In either case is the trans build up with stronger clutch packs?

I just had the tranny rebuilt (700R4) about 3k miles ago. Supposedly it has stronger everything but I'm not possitive. I really don't want to spray through my shifts anyway. If I get a Fuel pressure switch or something will it make it not spray through shifts? I would rather set it up right so I don't have to throw down money to have my tranny done again.

Thanks

Put your window switch to turn off just below your shift. So if you are shifting at 5400 set it about 5300

I have mine set to 6000, shifting at 6100

Exactly like Ed said, you do not want to put your shut off point higher than the shift point cause then you'll still be sprayin as it is shifting and I'm sure thats what your trying to avoid.

I was kind of wondering the same thing in a way but not the way your putting it. I was wondering what happens when say mine shuts off at 5900 and then shifts at 6000. Fine, I know that the nitrous will be off at the point of the shift but as it hits the next gear it will be above the 3000 on point, how does this effect the trans as far as stressing it? Will it just hit real hard and not really bother the trans or is it very stressfull on it? Is this basically how everyone with an A4 has there N2O setup? I'm sure when it shifts and at the same time the N2O kicks on again, it really bangs and maybe even break the tires loose huh? I can't wait to spray my first shot!
