why be scared? unhook the battery and get going. check lt1 tech for info on how to do the swap,it's been covered a hundred times and we dont really need to rehash it here.
i installed my fuel pump by cutting a "trap door" (do a search, long thread on that 1) and didnt drop the tank or rear.
