Looking for Nitrous friendly pistons?
Looking for Nitrous friendly pistons?
I am planning on spraying a min. of a 150 wet kit. I decided to trash the stock pistons and go with a 355 with stock crank and rods, what pistons should I get? I have no idea when it comes to what size, brand, what? Post me up a few choices or part #'s Please.
Thanks for the help, I would like to make the 2007 Power Tour

Since you're doing a 355 (4.030" bore) and the stock rods (5.70") your piston "size" is mostly spelled out. You will need to determine what your target compression ratio is, based on the other components (deck height, comb chamber cc's, gasket thickness, etc.) and whether you need a flat top piston, or the size of the valve reliefs.
What is the total HP you are expecting out of the engine? That will determine whether you really want to use the stock rods, and what you will need to do to your stock crank to extend its life.

When I did all my research on nitrous pistons, I settled on Ross. I like JE pistons, but they don't offer a flat-top nitrous piston. The Ross have the top ring down further on the piston, and a thicker crown.
Remember, though...Your stock rods are press pins. I'm not even sure if you'll find a set of nitrous pistons for pressed pins.
