Jets in Intake Elbow

I have been running the TNT LT1 Plate in my car for a while, but have decided to switch it out and run the 2 nozzles directly into the intake elbow. I have decided I am going to buy either a vortec or trickflow polished elbow, but wanted to find out the best way to mount the nozzles in the elbow. I do not want to just drill 2 holes in and hope for the best. I have seen some on summit you can buy some mounting nuts that go into the elbow with the correct nozzle thread size. My question is where is the best placement for these 2 nozzles? Also what is the best way about going about mounting them? And if anyone has some pics of a similar setup if they could post them, that would be great.

Thanks
Craig.

Re: Jets in Intake Elbow

I'll try to post pics. of my setup later as I finished doing the dual nozzle nitrous kit plumbed into a Trickflow elbow. I ordered the NX dual nozzle kit and it came with a pair of mounting nuts so if you get a similar kit, you should have no need to buy any from Summit. You drill two holes in the elblow to accomodate these nuts and your actual nozzles then screw into these mounting nuts. I took my time with the actual drilling part as 90 dollar intake elblows are not cheap. Basically you need to find a flat surface on the elbow, you need the nozzles to aim in the correct direction, and you want them to be about an 1.5 inches at least away from the throttle body. Again, I'll try to post some pics. later.

Might be a good idea to add some threadlocker to the nut; I'd be concerned with the nut rattling loose over time and making it's way into the intake

My thoughts exactly. I know it's not professional looking and it doesn't sound like he has a combo nozzle but maybe it will add to the ideas. My retaining method isn't obvious and I consider it completely safe. Here's how I hooked mine in using simple 12 gauge (from household romex) coated wire:

Exactly what I did, but I got some nozzle nuts from Nitro Dave.

No I didn't, but I would recommend it over threading the elbow. Its hard to get the nozzels tight in the right position.
