I had a problem..

On the dyno when I sprayed nitrous, the car bogged way down then flames burst from the throttle body.

More info here: http://64.65.63.61/forums/showthread.php?t=424796

I noticed that when purging it didn't seem to be consentient...like a lot of air was in the lines. It would purge fine for a second then there would be a gap....could that of caused it?

I don't have any saftey equipment to speak of and am very lucky that all it did was screw up my MAF.

Any ideas on why it decided to blow up on me? I have been sparaying with this tune for a long time with out problems.

Re: I had a problem..

Could have been so many things. Are you running a n20 filter? How old are the solenoids. Is this a dry/wet setup? What was bottle pressure? If your purge doesn't look right it may not be feeding from bottle or lines right.

What jets?

I have heard of shops being really cheap and pumping their n20 tanks dry when filling peoples bottles. They do this to make as much money as possible, but end up pumping air into your tank.

Could have just been a backfire, It does happen. Lucky you didn't hurt anything.

No N20 filter, not sure on jet size..it has been so long. But it is a 150 shot. Solenoids are a few years old. it is a wet setup. bottle pressure was real low, 600psi (I didn't know this before spraying.)

I had the bottle filled at the drag astrip.

I don't "KNOW" but have heard that low bottle preasure makes early activation a bigger problem...

How low in the rpm band were you spraying? I would say put it up to 1000 psi and hit it again....

Sounds like your bottle was either really cold or you were out of nitrous. However there are many factors that could have caused what happened. Get a window switch on there.

I started spraying at 4000 rpm.
