NITRO NEWBIE: Window switch w/ a TPS?

I am confoozled here...I confused myself so don't get me wrong.

I know what a window switch does, and how a TPS switch works...

I want to set the window probably from 3000-5800 RPMS, but I want it to start sending nitrous when I am WOT, that way if I am racing from a roll, and have it in gear already churning 3000 RPMS waiting to punch it, I can then go WOT and THEN spray instead of waiting, spraying and wasting it all when I am not racing.

Can I get both and have them work hand in hand??

EDIT: Oh yeah, my kit is a NX wet kit, 100 shot, no switch/window came with, the owner opened the bottle, and held down a button that shot the nitrous. He would let off when he wanted to stop....scary I know, so I want it safer. This kit didn't come with any of the safety stuff apparently.

Yes you can and should use both at the same time. N20 Kits are designed to only be used at wot. What would happen if you started to make a pass, spun real bad and let out at 5k rpms with only a window switch? BOOM!

Use them both in series. Hook one right into the next.

Thanks!! I know these questions of mine half to sound retarded, but I'd rather be an idiot here then have to be forced in to asking stupid "Engine Rebuild" questions.

Its better to get griped at for asking a question that was already asked than to destroy a motor. Alt least you are in the right forum

I did research, but I wanted crystal clear, instead of piece-wise info.

Anyways, any info on hooking up the window switch and the WOT switch? What wires to be looking for, techniques, tricks to make it easier, etc??

Re: NITRO NEWBIE: Window switch w/ a TPS?

It's actually easy to wire both of them in. Your window switch will provide a signal wire on activation (positive or negative) and you use that on one side of a standard relay (few bucks at any auto store), connect the polarity that is NOT provided by the window switch to be on when the system is armed. Put the switched side of the relay to the next relay, which is set up the same way only with a tps switch. You can use the relays to connect either the ground or the positive, and there are pros and cons to each.

If you do it right, one relay comes on with the TPS and one with the window switch, but the solenoids only get power (or ground) when both relays are active.

Hope that helps.

Re: NITRO NEWBIE: Window switch w/ a TPS?

I just run it all in series. tps sens V to window switch, which then sends to my relay. If one has an open connection nothing flows.

(Actually my new setup is way different but thats the easiest)

None. WOT = Wide Open Throttle (ie pedal to the floor, full power).

What RPMs do you want to spray in? Usually starting at 3000 (if using a progressive controller you can go lower) and ending before the RPM rev limiter.

Cool Re: NITRO NEWBIE: Window switch w/ a TPS?

Hey Matt, this is the other Matt. Got the Trigger back the other day but I couldn't tell if it had been replaced. Did you find anything wrong with it? I was going to wire it in tonight but ran out of time. Hope to get it back in tomorrow.
