Lightbulb how the taction with nitous

i have a set of 4.10' on street tires (245-50-16) and a few basic mods(exhaust intake ect.) and im about to go down to 3.73's cause traction and street driving is a straight pain in my a** but anyway my question is,i want to through a 100 shot of nos in my ls1 99'z, with a set of 3.73's does anyone have this set-up how are the launches on 1/4 mile runs with an automatic tranny?is the traction pretty descent? can you go to drag radials with this set-up without ripping your rear end in half?
any opinions wuld be helpful guys thanks..

Racing in general is a learning process every time out. Starting with a baseline and working around it up and down is the best way to tune your car and your driving skills.

Especially if you're trying to do it on a tire that was meant for longevity and water situations.

A progressive nitrous controller is a trick little way to figure out a good launch on any track. Goodluck!

it also depends upon the track you go to and if they prepped it correctly. the track will never be the same so every time you get on the line you will have to learn it all over again. just be careful and dont be afraid to ask questions if you are confused. oh yeah dont be greedy with that n2o on that ls1. that 100 shot is pretty powerful but if you plan to go to the 150 i would get the fuel pump. i put the racetronix setup in mine and with the 150 shot still got a 12.9 afr.

i already broke 2 rears and 1 clutch burned out with a 100 shot. Of course I was using slicks. On street tires you should be OK, but the rear will probably break sooner or later.

If you are serious about the drivetrain, buy a street twin and a 12 bolt, I did and running slicks and juice is no problem.

It all depends on the tire, and the road conditions...

my car on the 100 shot will smoke the tires from an 80mph roll if they are plain radials...

drag radials it had to be over 40 to go WOT with traction...

On et streets on a nice road I can hit the bottle from a dig....

Tires would be the most direct help but with them you are limited. I would go with nitto dr's if you already have the 4.10's. BFG's hook up better but that will be more stress on things. Get a set of sfc, lca's with re location brackets and a line lock along with your tires. Heat them up good and you won't have any problems. But the nitrous is going to have to wait to the second or third gear.

i understand most of your suspension upgrades but what is a line lock?wouldnt a torque arm be the best for traction poblems?

first of all are you talking about track or street??

I have an lt1 with a mcleod street twin,12bolt, BMR trackpack, BMR LCA's, and BFG drag radials... on the street the car won't hook under 40 or so mph. The track is totally different though. Track if prepped well you can hook a street tire to a 1.95 60'

I think you need to install your kit, see how bad the traction is, then buy the tires accordingly. The new BFG Drag radials hold 800+ horsepower in second gear on my friends supra, I think they would work for you.

I have had a 12 bolt for along time. I broke my 10 bolt with 13.5's and 1.98 60's when I first bought it. The spiders are what get you. When they brake they can take out alot of stuff. If you want to race and f body you will sooner or later half to buy a rear.I was doing the 1.7's with nitto's. Since I have headers 150's in and roll bar. The car has been 1.5's on et streets.
