nitrous and a stock LT1

my good buddy has a 1993 firebird formula

he has just gotten back his transmission (2500$ rebiuld supposed to be able to hold some massive HP's)
he has a 3500 stall converter

for the engine he has stock block with stock pistons, rods, crank...

he has a new cam... ported/polished heads... ported intake
new injectors... ram air and FIPK, chip, pulleys, 3.73 rear end, new coil pack and ignition module, aluminum drive shaft, long tube headers, flowmasters exhaust (catback), no cat custom Y-pipe, hew throlle body (bbk i think),
what do you think he will run in the 1/4 mile given he has 355 drag radials and gets grest taction...

he also just got nitrous over the internet (ebay) and just woindering what the max HP he should run with his combination...
he always uses 100 octane gas and thinks about running a 125 shot and jsut confirming that it would be acceptable on his motor.. what does everyone think about this idea

I run a NX 150-175 shot on my stock shortblock. I've been running it for about 2 years now and the motor is still together. I think a 100 shot is pretty safe and should be reliable. Just make sure you have enough fuel.

150 shot for 1.5 years stock longblock, and no problems, just make sure it has good fuel/ignition systems and you'll be set.

So you guys are saying that on a completly stock internal LT1 (say'96) you can run a 100 shot of N2O??? I'm new to the nitrous scene and plan on getting it in the next few days. So reading a stock LT1 can handle 100 shot is great news to me! Just tell me if its true or not and you can sign me up to be in the N2O club!

my completely stock internal LT1 (including cam/heads) has a 150 shot on it for well over a year, and i started with a 125.

As i always say, make sure the fuel and ignition systems are good,do NOT run platinum plugs, and use your head.

But how do u know how long u can spray for? Can you use that 150 shot all the way down a 1/4 mile track with out any problems? And what about racing out on the street where you dont really know how long you sprayin. I mstly street racing just like everyone else and I dont want to be spraying longer than I want to. I know that theres no way I would run into anyone around here that sprays on a V8 (small town) thats a 150 shot...I'm just curious as to the limits of the LT1. One more quetion....what would be a nice start on a completely stock set-up? Example, stock fuel delivery, and up graded ignition? Thanks!

Whats the best system to get?

Well,i spray for the entire 1/4 mile, been doing so for 1.5 years. when i did street race,i only sprayed long enough to get ahead of the other guy and make sure i was gonna stay there.

IMO get a fuel pump and an ignition box,msd digital 6,mallory hyfire etc.

and if it is your first time,USE your head, start small,i have been dealing with nitrous for about 11 years, and im fairly confident in my tuning abilities.
