how much total?

how much total?

i have very few mods but i want that big hp gain (doesnt everyone). how much in total, parts, labor, etc. did it cost do do a nitrous kit for about a 100 hp shot. whats the best kit for your money, and will this make me have to work on my car more than i drive it.

i say around 1300.00 that covers all the goodies. But NX is commoing out with a direct port kit So, I would recommend that you wait a few weeks lol or months. BTW this didnt include the fuel pump you don't really need it you gonna spray 100 shot but anything over i highly recommand it

If you go with the direct port route, plan on the price above plus a fuel pump and any progressive... $1700 - $1900. Half that of a supercharger without the tuning issues.

There are lots of people running 100-150hp nitorus shots without going the direct port route. My two nozzle 150hp system runs fine. The extra cost and complexity of direct port will be of most interest to people using 250+hp nitous shots. For this, you need a whole new motor as well!

True about the direct ports... but I was refering to the Noszle and NX NXL rail type direct ports without the drilling into the manifold. Seems to be fairly simple to install. I'm tending to go for the wet TB mount by Nitrous Works $600. I'm a bit concerned about the wet NX MAF and spraying around a 90* elbow. But I haven't heard of any problems with that kit.

The NOSzles are $81 each..... almost $650 for a set of 8. The NOS NOSzle kits are $1,500.

The NX kit is like 550. What else do you need besides the kit? Can you spray with just a kit. Doesn't a kit have everything, hence "kit"?

Sure, but if it is a dry system tack on injectors and a pump. If it is a wet kit, you'll need a window switch. It really depends on what he wants. There are so many companies and so many different kits that some are complete and others are lacking. Defining "best" kit has different meanings. But you could get an entry kit for about $550.

alot of people use the NX kit which is what I use and you can spray with just the kit I also recomend the window swicth for safety and later on you can add the the bottle heater, purge (which is cool), fuel pressure guage ($215--recommended). and if you want to go with a 150 shot your going to need some ignition upgrades with a timeing retard ( around $400) . the system I have now is around 1300, kit, install, purge, heater, window switch, and fuel press. guage (not installed). but you can start with the basic kit and then add the goodies later. thats the good thing about N2o. if you go cam or SC you have to fit the bill at one time.

Good point. You can build/customize piece by piece... but you'll get it running with a kit.
