I will be dyno tuning soon starting with a 150 shot. I was wondering what would be a good starting point with retard. I wasn't sure if the same general retard guidlines applied when running high compression and high octane.

I could be wrong but with 110octane and a 150 shot I would think you should be fine... but you could knock off 2 deg to be safe.

The way to use the dyno is to sneak up on it. Don't forget, timing will change the AF ratio. Start safe: rich without much timing. Maybe 22-24 degrees. See what effect small changes have. Listen carefully for detonation, don't be afraid to pull a plug or two(assuming you know the fine old art of plug reading).
