Just found out something exciting, i was looking at the pistons you recommended, in 4.020, 3.75, 6.0, 1.125 in the nitrous blower pistons, and comparing the rings to what i have already, same thing, then compared the pistons, and same thing, didnt even realize i already had them!

Anyway, Im starting to realize like he said, that 300 might be a little much, especially since I want this motor to last and not rebuild it every season. So i will likely drop it down to a 200-250, and possibly pick up some lunatis, but I think im gonna try my luck with eagle or scat, but am for sure getting at least a 4130 crank.

Rich, what are your opinions on cranks ground down by the factory cuz of defects? only .010" 4340 lighweight crank is only $385

I have no problem with a 10 under crank if it was ground right and then inspected properly for cracks/defects.

mmmmm...I bet you have a problem with it now that I say its an eagle crank though huh , aside from your loyalty to usa made, any good? Again, something I should be discussing with my engine builder, but I like this place!

Edit, I could probably send a ground crank out to get checked by someone else huh? Any idea where?

Also dont you get like .010 under bearings, or will it ride on stock size bearings?

Right, you need bearings for a 10 under crank. Some people call these "10 over", others "10 under". If the crank specs out good and passes inspection it will likely be fine, my anti-Chinese product bias aside! The places I know are local (to me). Is it from the manufacturer? In that case, it likely has been inspected. Who reground it?

Its from a place called www.cnc-motorsports.com, but Eagle ground it down. I am the type that would rather spend the small amount of $ to have it rechecked to make sure.

Would any repectable engine builder be able to inspect it, or will then need a magnaflux machine (??correct term)?

Would a lightweigh crank be any weaker than a standard weight?

Yes, if you have it inspected it should be Magnafluxed, IMHO. A lightweight crank is not as strong, all else being equal (material, design, etc.).
