Fuel pump for 150 shot?

I just sold my supercharger and I am changing over to Nitrous(wet kit) and I am wondering which fuel-pump is gonna be the best for my application?

I was also wondering if the stock fuel injectors would be enough or should I upgrade those as well?

My motor is just about completely stock(65,000 miles) except for a few minor mods.

I have already changed the plugs and wires to NGK TR6's gapped @ .030 & some Accel wires are these plugs good enough?

Also are there any other safety features that I might wanna add ?

And finally should I stay away from the 150 shot and stay with 100 or should I be alright?

I'm somewhat new to this Nitrous stuff and I hope I have some good experiences like some of you guy's here I just don't want to do an engine rebuild any sooner than I have to. Thank you guy's for all of your input & may all of you have a Happy Holiday Season!

I run a Holley/Walbro 255lph intank and Autolite 103's gapped at .040. No problems running the times in sig.

would he even need a larger fuel pump with a stock motor and running a WET kit? tell me why.

Yes, if you plan to go over 100hp shot you will need a larger pump to support the extra fuel needed. Wet or dry, it doesn't matter, you are still depending on the stock fuel system for enough extra fuel to run a 150 shot. Most good LT1 kits come with an inline pusher pump, usually a 255lph.

Why did you sell a supercharger for N2O?

Time for a change! I get bored quickly and need a change.

(jcolez28)I see that you have an A4 w/4:10 gears & a 2800 stall?

Are you happy with this set-up?

I'm planning on spraying my car w/a 150 shot & I have a Vigilante 3200 stall and I'm considering 4:10 gears.

do you have an aftermarket ignition? if not, i think 0.032 is where your gap should be with stock ignition at a minimum. i think the rule is to take the gap down 0.004 or every extra 50hp over stock you are pushing. this would mean that for a 150 shot you would bring it down 0.012. this is because of the added pressures can 'blow out' the spark if the gap is too wide. if you have an aftermarket ignition, you can put your gap to about 0.040.

injectors don't go through any extra stress with wet kit, as the kit does not rely on the injectors for the extra fuel.

safety features have been asked a zillion times, do a search. here is a quickie though. ignition for better spark and control of spark. get one with a rev limiter that will cut spark instead of fuel. fuel pressure safety switch to prevent lean conditions when spraying. window switch. i know i forgot something......but what?

as for fuel pump, the stock pump will work with a 150 shot, but it depends on the condition and your tuning. i was really rich up in the upper RPM's, and the FPSS would shut my nitrous off up there because the pump was starved. i put the car on the dyno and tuned it with the Wideband and now it (stock pump) has no problem accepting the 150 shot. it is just safer to run a better pump.

now, for the 4.10's....i would not go with 4.10's on the spray. my friend has an LS1 auto on the spray with 3.73's and he thinks that he wants to goto 3.42's. he says that he wants to come through the traps in a better area of the popwerband. not exatly sure where he comes through now, but this is what he says. i have heard most people with 6 speeds say 3.73 for spray though.

hope i helped you.

here is an article on plug gap! the article is written for bikes, but mentions an LT1. here is what they say:

When you raise compression or add forced induction (a turbo system, nitrous, or supercharger kit), you must lower the gap (reduce gap about .004" for every 50 hp you add on an V-8 engine, for a Harley-Davidson V-2 engine every 12.5 hp you add). However, when you add a high power ignition system (such as those offered by MSD, Crane, Nology,) you can open the gap back up about .002"-.005".

As an example, let's use a hypothetical `96 350 Chevrolet LT1 engine build-up. The standard gap is .050" for an un-modified LT1. We'll add 150hp Nitrous, so we must lower the gap about .012" to .038". We then decide to add that killer MSD 6A/Crane Hi-6 box and, using our guidelines as outlined above, we can now open the gap up .002"-.005" to about .040"- .043". By following this basic guideline should get you very close.

I ordered 373 from Summit. The number on the box matched and the box looked as if it had never been opened. I didnt think to count the teeth I just told the mech. to install them. Afterwards he said " By the way those were 410 gears". I freaked! I called Summit and all they could say was "Well there pretty close". I could of sent them back but the install was $210. I had the gears for a year before the stall. Out of the hole is brutal. In the 1/4 mile you have to go 6100 to hit it. The speedo is 10 mph off in OD.
