Direct Port Results?

I know this is a very crummy question but...

Lets say the motor puts down 430/400 as a bench mark.

You spray a 250 direct port nitrous shot.

I know you should gain around 250rwhp... but what about torque? I always notice that the torque is just ridiculous on nitrous.

btw... it's a 6 speed. 383 LE3 with 11.8:1 cr (9:1 dcr)

Re: Direct Port Results?

it varies a lot from kit to kit but with 250 jets in the car I would at least expect 300 t/q probably closer to 320

Generally the torque gain will be about 1.25 - 1.5X the HP gain. Of course, the lower the RPM the larger the torque gain...... but don't get greedy, because that's why things break at low RPM.

I wanted to spray right after the 60ft... or maybe once I reach my window set at 3400-6400...

I am curious to find out if a 200 shot at least will put me over the 600rwhp mark and what kind of torque.

Re: Direct Port Results?

Just put the jets in that make the power/TQ you want. people get to caught up in "XXXhp jets, bRO!" instead of looking at actual nitrous flow into the motor- or better yet, what power it makes.

If you want to make 600rwhp, jet it till it makes 600rwhp.

You're right... thats not a bad idea. hahahaha

But now let me ask this question. Lets say the rings were gapped for a max shot of "250."

You dyno 400/400. Put in your "250" jets but only make 200/200 at the wheels. Do you have the head room to install the extra 50 or are you stuck with what ya got? Since you're only gaining 200/200 from the 250 jets.
