Yes, I know the systems are illegal, what do you take before inspections?

 

It's not illegal to have a system installed in the car. I believe if you disconnect the main feed line from the bottle, you're OK.

 

The last guy to do mine didn't care, so long as I removed the intake line. I just pulled the nozzle and put a 1/8"npt plug in its place for the test.

 

Nitrous is not illegal. It just needs to be certified, like any other aftermarket part. The original NOS 5176-EO kit for the LT1 was CARB-EO certified, and came with a sticker to put under the hood - 100% emissions legal. Since the system was hard-wired to operate only at WOT, it was no problem. NOS no longer sells the kit, but I've still got the CARB sticker from the one I buoght in 1995.

Since it isn't normally activated for an emissions check, it isn't going to affect the car's emissions at all.

Local and State laws may limit the use of nitrous systems, but you have to investigate the laws for your specific location.
