Cam & Nitrous ?
Cam & Nitrous ?
I have a 98WS6 with an A4. The car has a fairly loose converter, 3600 vig. The car has a set of ported heads with larger valves. I am also running a Compcam with 221/221 with 112 seperation (568 Lift). I just had a NX Wet kit hooked up and the shop only was able to get about 50+ hp to the rear tires using a 125Hp jet. They have done tons of these systems and have done them well. The word was with an A4 running a 112 Lobe seperation the nitrous wouldn't work as well.
Has anyone experienced this problem? If so, anything I can do to help it run better without swapping back to a 114 seperation cam?
Thanks,

Thanks,
it isnt the cam because i have the hotcam on a 112 lobe sep but
how did they activate the n2o on the dyno? and since you have a 3600 stall what is your powerband and how much pressure was on the n2o bottle? cuz if it is under 900 it doesnt give the full amount of potential hp that can be delivered. the pressure needs to be around 1050-1150 psi and that will give you the amount that the system is rated at.

To answer the questions that were asked.
1. Yes, the bottle pressure was fine.
2. Noid voltage was also fine.
I did find out the shop was running a Mustang Dyno so I guess 45Hp gain at the rears on a 125 shot (while bad) was not as bad as I thought. That equals a gain of about 60rwhp on a DynoJet? They did manage to get a 400Hp at the rear on the 150 shot setup. They figured it was equal to about 470rwhp on a Dynojet if you factor in the loose 3600 converter and it being on a Mustang Dyno. They suspect it is the head and Cam package are not working well together. More a problem with the heads then the cam. So, I will save my pennys and get a new set of heads. These head actually netted me .3-.4 in the 1/4.
What do you think? It kind of makes me mad but what can I do? I guess who cares what the HP numbers say. It is what the car will run. I run 12.1-12.2 NA so I guess that isn't that shabby?
Thanks for all your help.............

###dad's is an A4 and it only has 2800 viligante, we should have got a 3200 though oh well, i guess when the motor goes in we just have to upgrade the stall###
You think a daily driver A4 with a 100-125 shot and 3.42 rear gears would be better off with a 3200 stall?
How dramatically is this going to affect the "street" feel and drivability. I am trying to decide between a 2800 and 3200 vig now...
