Purge My Cherry

im building a 383 small block chevy. i was looking to order injectors and i seen these holley ones that were for a nitrous system. and it got me thinking about some No2. my engine has an LT1 intake on it, so im thinking i'll be needing the LT1 kit right.
i was doing a bunch of reading and one guy said his TNT kit felt like an afterburner compared to the NX kit. any truth to this, and what kit would you guys recomend. im looking for a 150shot at the least.

I'm assuming this is an Standard 1st Gen Small Block with a Converted LT1 Intake?

Not 100% sure on what you have planned for your system.... The Holley/NOS Throttle body will still work fine on your system, although you will need to find another method of giving the fuel; enrichment, beit through a standard LT1 Dry Systems "FMU" or if have an aftermarket engine management system.

If your fuel system is running at the same pressure as a stock LT1 car (~43psi), then you can use any of the standard LT1 Systems from NOS, NX, TNT etc without a problem.

Theres enough debate on which system works better, makes more power etc, that you can use the search feature and make your judgement from there.

Good luck, and please do post back with more details on the car!

yes, iam using a 1st gen block with a converted LT1 intake. all forged bottom end. custom grind cam ( specs @ shop ). Hydraulic Roller. AFR 195 heads. running between 10.1 - 10.4. Holley Commander 950 for DFI. Crane HI6 (upgradable) for ignition. BBK 58mm TB. aeromotive AFPR. thats all i can think of right now.

i looked at the TNT kit, but its a little expensive. i found a Nitrous Works kit for cheaper that seems to be exactly the same. anyone herd anything about it and, with the plate kits, looks like its ment to work with stock throttle bodies, what if i have a 58mm tb, wont that restrict alot of airflow or can you get the plates with bigger holes?

the reason TNT costs more, is bcuz they rate their jets at rwhp, not flywheel, ie...TNT 100 shot is a 100 shot the the rear wheels, where as Nitrous Works 100 shot is 100 to the motor......some people say a Nitrous Works 125 = a TNT 100.......so u could always buy the nitrous works and spray 125.......it is a lot cleaner setup too, compared to mine, i have braided hoses sticking up out of the spray bar plate about 1 1/2". will post pics soon.

btw you can port match the spray bar plates to match the TB with a dremel if u wanted.

this shows the braided hose w/ the hood not even closed all the way and they are already close to hitting
