50 shot or so
Its not so much any engine differences per se, but the ET difference (to put it basically).
Call it the law of diminishing returns.
Add a 50hp system to a 19 second Honda and watch it shave off 2 seconds.
Add a 50hp system to a 16 second car and watch it go 15s.
Add a 50hp system to a 13 second car and it'll gain 1/2 second.
Add a 50hp to a 7 second car and you might gain 1 or 2 tenths in the ET.
The faster the car is the more you need to throw at it to go faster....
As far as the original post..... why not add something that will be there for ya all the time. If its in your budget try a nice higher stall torque converter. Nothing crazy, but it will probably be enough to beat the car you mention stop light to stop light, so long as the race doesn't last long enough for his HP advantage to tear you down.
Good luck!

George, I also note how you are adding there "Old Cam"
So it sounds as though the engine just wasn't capable of taking in/burning any more Spray...
I think with a different setup we'd typically see more then 3 hundredths out of a 50hp increase in Nitrous "usage" in an 11 second car.
Very good point nonetheless, especially for another thread currently on this board........

You're 100% correct, Kurtis. Changed from a 210/220 114+4 cam to a 224/235, 113+5 cam. Ran 11.73 on the 200 shot with a knock sensor error (limp home, open loop mode) and with the tires spinning on the rims.
I now have both issues addressed and expect another couple of tenths next time, hopefully next week
