My car is apart again and won't be back in action for a few years because I'm broke.

How about some of you guys enlighten me to what your pulling out to get these pigs lighter. My ride is a cow in dire need of a diet, and I like pizza to much to help out on the driver side of it.

It's a long thread, but here's one I started about what I've done:

http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread...hreadid=238019

Here's my continuing saga:

There are some things I haven't listed, but to get an idea of what the car looked like last year, try this:

ROTFL!

-Remove A/C for 46 pounds
-Lightweight wheels
-Aluminum heads (if you don't already have 'em)
-Remove bumper support, replace with fabbed Chromoly pushbar
-Rip out the sound deadener
-Install inexpensive (lightweight) aftermarket carpeting
-Lose the cast iron manifolds
-Lightweight seats
-Remove big stereo
-Change hood
-Lose rear seats and front swaybar on race day
-No strut tower brace
-Convert to modified aluminum TC power steering pump from C4 Corvette
-dissolve all undercoating from vehicle surfaces
----------------------------
Stuff that removes the 'street' in street car:
Remove heater core, blower, and under-dash ducting
Take out airbags and center console
Lose the exhaust
Chromoly K-member
Little, low-mass battery in the rear hatch area.
Lexan rear hatch glass

Of course, I'm probably going to get barbequed for opening my fat mouth since I've not actually done most of this stuff so ignore this post. It's probably wrong. I probably shouldn't even send it

Guys, I have a Hawker 13 lb. battery for sale that I used for only one race. It'll save about 17 lbs. over your stock battery. With my master cutoff switch on the driver's side and the length of cabling to my battery it would only marginally start my car. If you're keeping it in the stock position I'm sure it would work well as it does on many other F bodies. I'd sell it with the sidepost adapters for $50.

Okay, I'll buy it. Email me and send the relevant details. Want to do a partial trade for a copy of the CZ28 2003 Nats DVD? I'll make you a deal!

Mine officially now needs an accelerator cable. It needs other work like a new carpet, but that part will have to wait until it warms up some.

My Z06s are sitting in the basement with my SPEC stage 2. I polished up my MAF to practice then I want to get started on the alternator but its too damn cold. I'm waiting to put on the C5 brakes too. I dont have a heater for my garage nor is it insulated so everything has to wait at least 2 more months.

Ported heads more, went to a different grind cam, replaced all underhood wiring, replaced alternator with a powermaster low mount kit, and moved electronics inside behind glove box.

Replaced suspension components (Springs in front, shocks all the way around) replaced stock hood/snorkel scoop to 5 inch cowl (Fiberglass). Replacing Brodix intake with a dart 4500 flange and Bill Mitchell 1150 HP Dominator. Replacing th400 transmission with a beefier th400/w-brake from coan. Bought/mounted new set of goodyear Eagle slicks. Deleted radio, added new Wilwood front discs, replaced B&M transtemp gauge with Autometer to match all other gauges, and added Oil temp gauge to console with transtemp. Replaced transcooler with new beefier B&M cooler. Replaced all long style march pullies with short style march, and replaced long type water pump with short also.

Replaced block with a new Merlin, Replaced ALL of the rotating assembly went with J/E Nitrous pistons and H-Beam rods with Callies dragonslayer crankshaft.

Replaced back tail-lamp lenses, cut-off switch.

Still need to rewire in car stuff to make it look more neat and add new airplane style dip switches for fuel pumps, electric fan manual control, ignition kill, and one spare. maybe have a new cage installed, a new headliner (5 inch rip on passenger side), and a new Aluminum d-shaft.

I know I've replaced more stuff can't think of it all right now.

Also have 572cu Dart block and rotating assembly with Dart Pro 1's looking to find clean body sometime in the spring.
