It's kinda funny, but the first thing that pops into my head when I hear the Kalitta name, is how his old man was puttin' the wood to Cha Cha Muldowney back in the day.

Arrow Well...

Now days you have to have a MULTI-CAR team. My opinion is Doug is twice the driver Scott was! Doug could win the championship someday. Besides, Scott came into the hospital where my wife works and she took his info at the emergency desk. Said he was a real 'Prik'.

Another funny thing... I was at a 'cruise in' about 3 years ago, when Redbird drove the roads, and who do I look up and catch looking at the car? None other than D. LaHaie. I asked him what are you, a World famous T/F CC doing in JACKSON? He replied, "What are you doing here?" I replied "showing my car", he replied "ME TOO!" I used to remember him racing at our local ONONDAGA DRAGWAY (now demised, rest her soul) as he lived in Lansing. Onondaga DRAGWAY was half way between Lansing and Jackson. On Bellevue just outside of Leslie MI.

I used to drive by her everyday going to work in Eaton Rapids. Fond memories... Oldsmobile was gonna sink a ton of money into her for research and so she could stay open. The Trailer Park next door voted "NO". Even though Old's was gonna, reportedly,
sink the track below ground level to help isolate the noise.

I seen a picture of "BIG DADDY" once and he was at Onondaga Dragway Racing! They used to put on some KILLER Modified Production Races!

Arrow Eddie Hill? Oh My GOSH!

I don't think they would give him a fuel license anymore due to his being right around 125 years old! Cripe, he makes Garlits look like a pup! I think he maxed out when they hit 300 mph as his pace maker was only good to 299 mph.
I think he was the FIRST drag racer GOD ever put on this earth and the longest living one, too!

You mean Dan Pastorini? He played most of his career for Houston as I remember. He was on a few different teams at the end. Oakland and LA among them.

God... why do I even know that!

Redbird,
Garlits is older than Eddy Hill is
DG is 71 and eddy is 68 or 69

PS: I guess ol Scotty got his legal troubles worked out. I heard he was out of the country for a few years so he wouldnt have to go to jail.

Thumbs down You KNOW...

I really get sick of seeing:

1) 2 T/F cars who both can't make it down the track together!

2) 2 FC's - the same!

3) Pro Stock tire shake resulting in - the same!

4) Angelle Savoie winning P/S motorcycle.

5) I'm a Suzuki man but can't Kawasaki field a competitive bike anymore? You guyz DOMINATED motorcycle racing for years. Whats a matter, not enough project JEN?

6) Pro/Stock cars who barely lift the tires. Give me the OLD day of P/S where everybody, rode that back bumper.

7) NO NEW COMERS! Jeeze I get sick of the same cars and same drivers. Only excitement is when Herbert getz pissed and wants to fight!

8) Gary Selzies 'fu-man-chu. Come on man, you've had that 'SAME' look for 20 years. Do sumpin' with it.

9) Crew chiefs who are interviewed and then have to run away to catch their tow vehicle. You EVER see anybody from NASCAR run away from an interviewer?

10) Force and his 16 car funny car team. Come on... everybody knows you have the biggest budget in dragracing. Come on NHRA and limit teams to two cars, MAX!

11) Force and the 15 year old fire suit. Cripe sakes, at least wash it, or better yet BUY A NEW ONE!

Give me SPORTSMAN RACING everytime. The networks only do Pro classes because it is easiest for Joe Blo to understand.
Give me Stock, Super/Stock, Modified Production.
Don't give me 9.90, 8.90, 7.90 throttle stop cars! There just isn't something right about cars launching HARD, then dying, then picking up again. Drag racing has always been about putting the pedal to the floor and trying to accelerate as hard and fast as you can. Pulling the front tires into the air and trying to run down a lower classed opponent! May Sportsman Racing be SAVED, because for most of us, WE ARE THE SPORTSMEN!

HInk (kind of opinionated today)

It wasn't the contingency stickers, it was the rainbow stripes all around the body-skirting.
