Just bought another Camaro....
I am glad I am not home right now.If ya gotta drop the tank it aint fun.You gotta drop the rearend down first. It isnt too hard depending on how rusted up it is.One thing is for sure.It sure is'nt fun.Have at er Harold. P.S. It can't be that bad those cars are pretty simple. If you need a lower end I have one at my mom and dads.It is a 305 with 88,000 original miles. If you wanted it you could have it.That way you would'nt have to part it out.You could get it ogether and sell it as a whole.Parts for those cars are cheap. They are a dime a dozen. Let me know cuz I'll tell ya where it is at exactley if you need it.

Might have to part the car out... Damm
Did I mention the motor looks pretty?</font>

lol, pantera, rock on!!
yeah i picked one up last year, 86z minus drivetrain, tight body hardly any rust. i rebuilt a 305 and threw in the 700r4 but i haven't bolted the b&m shifter in yet and reassembled the interior, just need to go through the brake system and my winter car will be on the road!
debating a twin turbo kit for the 305 but i would rather get a aftermarket fuel injection kit first, as it is i'm not crazy about the edelbrock in the winter.
oh well one of many projects, get the 86 on the road and disassemble the 94. lol, what social life?!

I have been painstakingly thinking since Sunday on what to call your third gen.If the 01 is Black Sunshine ( Actually Blacksunshine II) Then are you going to call the Third Gen "Black Mullet"????It's the best I could come up with.
Actually, the 01 SS is "Black Sunshine 3", I've had a 97 RS, and a 00 SS, all of them have been black.
I'm still debating on what to do. If I can get Andy to go over there with me, then perhaps we can figure something out.
The car isn't cherry, by any means, but it does not have one single spot of rust on the car. I'm not saying the paint is pretty, or that the panels are all perfect & straight, some are, some arent.
I wish you were here James, I would put your a$$ to work.. Actually, dropping the rear isn't that hard at all, but I suspect pulling the tank wouldn't be pretty. His brother told me today that there was some water in there. It had a lock on the tank, so how the hell could it get in there? Condensation? Injectors are most likely plugged up, from rust in the bottom of the tank? Would that make the motor run rough? It shook like hell when it ran, & sounded like knocking to me, but really wouldn't stay running long enough for me to concentrate on that.
If I can get it to run, it would be a low buck beater. So, no tubs.. No ZZ4, but I dam sure did think about that
Ok, going to start another post to get a survey on a name... Submit your request..

Turd Gen Troubleshooting- Part I
Check fuel pressure at the rail. It should be 39PSI with the vac hose on and raise when the hose is popped off.
Check for spark. Sometimes the pickup in the distributor will cause the problems you're talking about.
Is there a Check Engine light on? If so, jump the top two terminals on the right in the ALDL connector with a paper clip. Turn ign. to "on" position. Watch Check Engine light. It will flash a code. One blink, then two blinks- indicating a code 12 which is diagnostic mode. It will flash each code 3 times starting with the aforementioned 12, then after all the codes are flashed it will flash a 12 again signaling the end of the code retrieving sequence.
If you have codes, post them here and I will try and help you with them. This sounds like a much simpler problem than your making it out to be. Take the scientific approach. DIAGNOSE IT RIGHT!
