Post Just bought another Camaro....

88 IROC-Z, 350 TPI. 60,000 something miles on car, 5000 on new GM BC4 long block.

It has no rust, but paint is rough, and has a few dings. Last time the car ran, the guy said it shook like hell when it ran, and ran real rough. He mention that he thought it was the injectors. So, basically, it's gonna be a project & a challenge to even get it started.

What color is it? Black, of course. Motor condition looks real good, considering it's been sitting since last fall. I'm going to have it towed home..

Let project 20 second 3rd gen begin.

I gotta get it to run first.. Then it will be my Joe Dirt Mobile... Ha ha. I already have the cassettes James

Ya, if I get it to run, then maybe I can spray the hell out of it, & make it to 19 seconds. LMAO. I might be able to come up with a few tricks to make it run faster, should be able to make it to M8 with the car. If I could put a hitch on it, I would tow the SS to the track with the IROC

I can def drive this one down dirt roads, so might just take it to Andy & let him do his thing.. Andy, call me..

Bring it on down! I'd love to help you out with it. Sounds like it could be a real nice car. You said it was a hard top? There's one sitting out behind our service department... black 91 hardtop with 130,000 miles blowing white smoke and needs a motor according to one of our techs. Red leather but whole car very rough. Would need paint and interior overhaul. I'm going to ask how much for it!
Anyway, call me!!

Sweeeeeeeeeeet! Throw a sweet intake and carb(650-750cfm) on that new longblock! maybe a 100Hp NX plate kit, some headers and a cat back. Some 3.42 or 3.73 gears and sticky tires. It'll go 12's like a champ! or just get it running and

This would most likely be a daily driver. So I doubt it would get tubbed, but you never know

I'd be happy if nothing major was wrong with it. For the $ I spent, I can pretty much do anything I want with & not loose out. It was a great deal. I know the history of the car. 2 owner, the original buyer (owners brother) only drove it one day in the winter, to the shop when it was nice, but got caught in a blizard on the way back. Replaced the motor 5k miles ago, then sold to brother to get a 01SS. Brother screwed up the car, somehow. Ran real rough last time it was running. Battery went dead, so never tried to start.

I suspect there is more to the story than what they are telling, but Andy & I will try to get the beast running. Yes, it's a hardtop. Paint is rough, so this might just well be my first paint project.

Got the tapes out, & ready to rock., Ratt, & Poison, LMAO

Give it some credit. My Mustang is I think the slowest car on the Planet and that ran a 16 flat. You can do better than that.

You guys are thinking of way more $$ than I want to spend on this car. I did come up with 4 extra tires with great tread on them. I found $3 & some change in the car, a lockblade knife (nice one), and wouldn't you know it, there was 1 cassette in there, Pantera-Vulgar Display of Power. I popped it in, & it worked great, so I rocked on.

I did get the car to fire up!! For 20 seconds Only took 1/4 can of starter fluid. It ran real rough, so I think I'm looking at replacing the lower end. It obviously is not getting any fuel. So, perhaps something was in the gas tank.. I may have to drop the tank & flush that out. Pump might have went to hell. Oh well. Lots to figure out. Still dont have it home yet.
