Got out for a Sunday Drive!

Man, the car has spent more time on a battery charger than actually getting dirt on the wheels. However today the kids and I took the Trans Am out for a drive and used a couple thousand miles worth of tire in about an hour! It was pretty fun: At one point I passed a hopped up truck who had just completed a burnout on this country road: A nice 40-foot long single stripe in front of a house with some young guys milling about the yard. I assume these were his friends. As I got in front of the house I slowed down, dropped it into second gear, fanned the clutch and blazed the tires for about 200 feet. Two ten-inch wide stripes, nicely laid.

My youngest kids were whooping and wheeing, like they were on an amusement park ride. Then my 11 year-old son started getting nervous though and asked me to "Calm Down" This, from a kid with ADHD ! I was going to swing around to head back towards that house but my son was too embarrassed so I kept going... First time I think I've ever embarrassed my son, I think!

Ah well, everything worked out fine, and we kept to a spirited pace for the remainder of the country ride. It put me in what is definitely a rare mood these days, and just tonight I ordered the last pieces for my nitrous system from Nitro Dave! I got a NOS adjustable pressure switch for the heater, a throttle body solenoid bracket, a distribution block, and an electronic fuel pressure transducer.

Um, So What's 400 RWHP + a 100 shot equal, anyway?

Just preparing for M12, you guys!

Oh, OK. The FAST XFI has four different ignition/fuel maps plus a whole host of other power-adder functions including timing retard and power-adder delay, and it's the brains that will be running this system. I'll chuck six degrees of timing retard in the loop just to be safe.

Id so love to spend some time messing with your tuning to see if I could get anything out of it. Not sure if I could knowing how much time you have in it, but it sure would be fun

2 degrees per 50 is SAFE/Reccomended. If your N/A timing is running well(36 or 38 is where I think you said), taking 4 out is plenty. I'm pulling 5 on a 150 jet and the mark couldn't be better along with a steady 11.0:1 A/F. 38 dropped to 33. Colder plug and a splash of more octane.

Um, It might handle the 300 shot fine but I wouldn't want to stain the driver's seat. :O

I always wondered how you handled those sub-1.5 second sixty-footers!

Thanks for the tip!
