Thumbs up

sounds sweet duke. what do you have done to the rest of the car to support that eng.? stall? what rear gears? what kind of times do you think you should pull w/that power? Im hoping my eng. makes that kind of power w/the new heads I just put on. we'll see at the track tomorrow. it ran 13.3s before and it def. feels stronger now. Im hoping for some mid 12's. but I'll be happey if it even goes 12.9's. really it should be doing that at least w/all the mods I have. you think you'll have it in the car and done this year? what other parts do yo uhave in the eng? besides the edelbrock heads? intake? carb? headers? comeon, give it up. later chris

Engine is a 377, that's a brand new GM 350 block with 4 bolt main, unbored, Eagle 3.75" crank, Eagle 5.7" H-beam rods, JE forged flat top pistons, Comp Cams Megnum cam, 230/230 duration, .560/.560 lift, Comp Cams .52 Magnum roller rocker arms, Victor Jr. heads with Comp springs, 2.08 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves with 70 CC chambers, Victor Jr. intake manifold, Speed Demon 750 mechanical secondary carb, and a Canton road race oil pan with crank scraper. Headers are Hooker Super Comp 1 3/4" coated inside and out. Did I leave anything out???

The car has a manual, soon to be a T-56, so stall is up to my foot. Rear end is soon to be a 9" Ford with 3.73 gears. The bill for all my engine work and tons of parts plus my other bills from other various things has left me broke so I'm putting the car project on hold until I get more money. I don't see me driving it this year because I don't really want to put the T5 or 10 bolt back in and I'd like to start next year off with a t-56 and 9". Also would like to put some subframe connectors in and a roll bar to stiffin the suspension up a bit.
My car is very light so I'd like to run 11's on a small shot of the happy go fast gas. Mabye on engine alone if I swap for a better cam, I'm dissappointed with the power I got out of this one really.

that sounds like a pretty sweet comb. exc. two things. the cam def. sounds way small to me, esp. since its a stick. Id go w/more like 242 or 248 solid. the heads should be able to handle that much more lift pretty good. the other thing is are you sure you have 10:1 compr.? maybe those JE's have a higher dome height then typical flat tops. cause my eng. w/trw forged flat tops and 64cc heads makes around 10:1 -10.3:1 . still sounds like fun though. chris

The pistons are flat tops, they were custom made for this engine.
I think I'm actually going to swap for a bigger cam this winter and re-dyno it. I'm thinking about going a little crazy with it, like a 250-260 duration solid roller with a .620 lift That should make some power, and the heads should be ok with that. Piston to valve clearance shouldn't be a problem either, the pistons do have eyebrows. I'll have the heads ported eventually, but for now I can live with them.
BTW I'm not too worried about streetability, this thing idled at 1000 rpms nicely, it has a hell of a lope for such a small cam though!
